Technique Analysis
Pace Doctor's most popular servce providing great biomechanical insights analysing performance and injury factors in your bowling action. We'll assess your efficiency, momentum and alignment with a view to achieving more consistent speed, bounce, line and length. We'll also assess whether there are any major characteristics linked to back injury. This is particularly important for teenage bowlers as research has linked some bowling action features to lumbar spine stress fractures and back pain.

We offer three specialist technique analysis packages:
1. Club Quick Analysis. Designed as the general check-up analysis package and great as a first time analysis. It is the all-rounder of our analysis packages, assessing where you can improve ball speed, bounce, control, line, length and whether you have any major back injury risks.
2. Bowl Faster Analysis, which focusses specifically on the technique factors that have been linked to high ball speeds such as run-up speed, the delivery stride and blocking. We do a statistical analysis to see what your individual ball speed mechanisms are.
3. Illegal Action Analysis, which is a specific analysis for any bowler who has concerns about, or has been reported by umpires for, the legality of their bowling action (i.e. a doubtful bowling action in regard to throwing and the illegal delivery law).
How it works
1. Film your bowling action from the front and side (a modern smart phone with sports video mode will do)
2. Submit your video files
3. PaceDoctor will do an analysis and send you a video commentary report, coaching recommendations and your data

The Biomechanist
Dr Marc Portus, Founder of Pace Doctor, will be the biomechanist analysing your bowling action. Marc has analysed approximately a thousand bowling actions over the years, from Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee, Shane Watson and Mitchell Johnson in the AIS Biomechanics Lab through to junior fast bolwers in the U14's. He has a PhD from the University of Western Australia investigating fast bowling biomechanics, back injuries, ball speed and illegal bowling actions.
